We are a small family farm located in the beautiful Southern Missouri Ozarks. We are about 160 miles SW of St. Louis, MO and 130 miles NE of LIttle Rock, AR on the Missouri / Arkansas state line. We are a proud member of the MGR (Myotonic Goat Registry) and have been raising registered Myotonic (fainting) goats since 2010.
The Myotonic goat is a distinct breed yet it has many synonyms for names, including Nervous Goats, Wooden-Leg Goats, Fainting Goats, and Tennessee Fainting Goats. Although our goats are loving pets, this breed is known for its abundance of high quality muscle, making them great meat goats.
Fainting goats have a muscle condition called myotonia congenita. The goats do not truly "faint" in any sense of the word, as they never lose consciousness because of their myotonia. This hereditary condition actually causes prolonged muscle contractions when the animal gets startled and does not harm them in any way.
We love our Myotonics. They are calm docile pets. Please check out our stock. If you would like a Myotonic of your own. Please check out our For Sale page, just remember goats do not do well by themselves. They need a friend. While most of our kidding is in the spring and/or fall, we often have goats for sale throughout the year.
